AVM was founded by António Vicente Marques over 10 years ago. The firm originally began assisting clients as a full service law firms operating through its various offices in Africa, Americas and Europe with an integrated team of more than 90 lawyers.
AVM´s structure has solidified and expanded over the last two decades and our law firm has today become one of the most modern and internationally respected law offices operating in Angola, Brazil, Mozambique and Portugal with the opening of further offices in other jurisdictions currently underway.
The last 10 years has seen AVM grow from a Luanda-based law firm into a truly international practice. AVM has offices in Luanda and Cabinda (Angola) Rio de Janeiro, (Brazil), Maputo (Mozambique), as well in Lisbon and Porto (Portugal).

Our lawyers have been carefully selected for their solid academic backgrounds, international experience and in depth knowledge of local customs as well as the legal and political frameworks of the various jurisdictions where we operate. They have all either undertaken their training with the firm or been recruited from other reputable law firm. We encourage close cooperation and a regular interchange of lawyers between our various offices. AVM's lawyers are qualified in both civil and common law jurisdictions.
